What to check before trying to restore an app subscription

Separate your store account, app login and purchase status to investigate missing paid access without assuming you need to buy again.

You paid for a food app, changed phones or reinstalled it, and now a feature looks locked. Before purchasing again, trace the original transaction. A receipt proves that a purchase occurred; you also need to establish which account owns it, whether access is current and what the purchase covered.

Draw the three-part purchase trail

  1. Store account: the Apple Account or Google Account attached to the purchase.
  2. App login: the account you are currently using inside the app, if it has a login.
  3. Purchase status: the item or plan name and the current status shown by the billing platform.

Use a private note to compare these fields. Do not send account passwords to support. A missing feature does not identify which part of the trail failed, so distinguish an absent purchase record from a visible active subscription whose app access is not working.

If the purchase was through Apple

Apple's restoration guidance says some non-consumable purchases and subscriptions may be restored, while consumable purchases cannot. It directs you to look for a restore option in the app and use the purchasing Apple Account. If restoration fails after a charge, Apple recommends contacting the developer.

Those are platform instructions, not a confirmed map of Ingredi's interface. This guide has not verified an Ingredi Restore Purchases button or the type of every item it sells. If you cannot find a restore control, record what menus are actually present and ask the developer about the specific item. Avoid guessing that a one-off report and a recurring subscription have the same restoration behavior.

If the purchase was through Google Play

Google's missing-subscription help points out that an app-login email can differ from the Google Account used to subscribe. It advises checking the correct account and receipts. For paid in-app content that is not delivered, it directs users to the app developer.

For example, imagine you sign into a food app with address A but bought the subscription while Play used address B. Finding no subscription under A does not establish that the purchase vanished. Check B in the store, using only accounts you own or are authorized to access, and then compare the result with the app login. This is a fictional troubleshooting example, not a tested Ingredi account setup.

Prepare a useful support request

State the platform, app version if visible, item name, current subscription status and exact error message. Describe whether the problem began after a reinstall or device change. Provide transaction evidence only through the verified support channel and redact unrelated payment information. Ask which account and recovery route apply before making another purchase.

To reinstall the intended app, use Ingredi AI on the App Store or Ingredi AI on Google Play. Reinstallation itself is not proof of restored access. This process also does not establish transfer between Apple and Android, family access, or a refund entitlement; those require their own evidence.
