Keep a trial end date separate from a renewal date

Build a clear trial calendar from your actual offer, with a decision reminder and verified cancellation status instead of an assumed deadline.

A trial can be useful for deciding whether a food-scanner app fits your routine, but the phrase free trial is not a calendar entry. Record the actual end date and the terms of the first charge before starting. Keep your own decision reminder separate from the platform's billing date so you have time to act.

Give each date a job

  • Trial start: when you accepted the offer, for your own record.
  • Trial end: the date and any time stated in the accepted offer or subscription details.
  • First paid period: when payment begins and which period it covers.
  • Your decision reminder: an earlier time to keep or cancel after checking whether the app meets your needs.
  • Confirmed status: what the subscription page says after you act.

Copy any timezone that is explicitly displayed. If a page gives only a date, record time not specified. Do not silently turn that date into midnight in your current location, particularly while traveling. An unexplained timezone is a reason to check the platform details, not a reason to guess an exact final minute.

A fictional calendar, with room to decide

Suppose an imaginary offer explicitly ends on November 12 at 18:00 UTC. A personal review reminder on November 10 at 18:00 UTC gives two days to decide. The reminder is your planning choice, not a different trial expiry. If you convert those times into your local calendar, retain the original UTC entry alongside them. None of these dates describes an Ingredi offer.

At the review reminder, answer one practical question: did the app help with the label-reading task you downloaded it for? Record a concrete observation, such as whether you could read the extracted text for a particular package. A reminder works better when it prompts a decision, rather than merely announcing an approaching charge.

Use the billing platform's rule

Apple's cancellation guidance says to cancel a trial at least 24 hours before it ends if you do not want renewal. Google Play's trial guidance says the first billing period begins when the trial ends and advises cancellation before expiry to avoid charges. Do not transfer one platform's timing rule to the other.

After canceling, reopen the subscription details and record the displayed status. A reminder marked complete is only evidence that you handled the reminder; it is not evidence that the billing change succeeded. If you keep the subscription, update the record to the next displayed renewal instead.

Start from the offer on your device

You can download Ingredi AI through its App Store listing or Google Play listing. Inspect any trial shown to your account before accepting. This calendar method does not establish that a trial is available to you or that access continues after cancellation; keep the specific offer and the current platform instructions together.
