Check a food app’s cellular-data setting before leaving Wi-Fi
Use iPhone per-app cellular controls and a clearly bounded usage note without confusing a network setting with offline capability or a carrier bill.
If you want to use a label app away from home, decide whether it may use cellular data before entering the shop. That decision is separate from camera access and from whether the app works offline. You can permit a photo while choosing to postpone any network-dependent task until Wi-Fi is available.
Inspect the actual iPhone control
Apple's cellular-data instructions direct you to Settings, then Cellular or Mobile Data. Scroll to the app list to inspect the relevant switch. Turning cellular access off for an app leaves Wi-Fi available for data. Names and options vary with device, carrier, region and software version; an iPad may show Cellular Data.
With multiple SIMs, also note which line is selected for cellular data. Do not assume that a preference on one screen describes every line or roaming arrangement. Apple advises checking with the carrier for the most accurate usage information and applicable charges.

For a fictional shopping plan, suppose you decide to leave the app's cellular access off. Photograph the package using a supported camera workflow, but do not assume a result that needs a server will appear immediately. Check the app's actual behaviour in advance using an ordinary label, and keep the package available if you need to complete the check later.
Record usage without inventing precision
If measuring a session, note the displayed app total, the statistics period, the time and the task before and after. Keep the unit exactly as shown. A difference can include other activity associated with the app during that period; it is not automatically the size of a single photo transfer.
