Two recall notices for one brand: keep both product scopes

Use two FDA-hosted Starfish Seafood notices to distinguish product, lot and publication date without assuming one notice replaces the other.

Finding a second recall notice for a familiar brand does not tell you that the first notice has been replaced. Compare the products and identifiers in each notice. A later date on the website may be a publication date rather than a new company announcement.

Read these two notices as separate records

As checked on 19 October 2026 in Shanghai, the FDA hosts a Starfish cold-smoked Norwegian salmon notice and a Starfish Seafood Trio notice. Both concern a possible Listeria risk. The following comparison preserves their separate scopes; it does not claim either notice expands, ends or replaces the other.

The salmon notice directs affected consumers not to eat the product and to return it to the purchase location for a full refund. The Trio notice gives the same consumer action. Reopen the official notices for full identifiers, contact details and any subsequent information.

Why one combined row would lose information

Imagine organizing saved notices in a spreadsheet with only brand and latest date columns. Both products would collapse into one row. You would lose which lot belongs to which product and could mistake the later FDA publication date for a later company announcement.

A more useful record gives every notice its own source link, product description, identifiers, announcement date and publication date. Keep the raw Trio date string if its format has not been independently resolved; silently interpreting it introduces an unnecessary extra assumption.

Compare a package without guessing missing fields

For a real package, match the exact product and identifiers against the complete source notice. Do not conclude that all products sharing the brand are affected, or that an unreadable lot establishes the package is unaffected. Resolve missing details through the notice's appropriate contact route.
